Lacoste has recently revealed three new fragrances they say were inspired by the timeless L.12.12 polo shirt. I remember longing after a Lacoste polo to go with my Reebok classics when I was just 15 so there is a small place in my heart for the iconic polo shirt. However, unless they smell like a brand new shirt, I'm not sure if I'm going to get the connection.
The three scents are called BLANC, BLEU & VERT so no prizes for guessing which one is which. So far, I have only smelt the the signature fragrance, BLANC, which is pleasant enough with a clean, crisp and simple smell which is generally what I would go for. The bottle reminds me of an ipod.
BLEU, they tell us, elicits a classic aquatic freshness but with a unique use of peppermint, watery-fern notes and pink grapefruit, further enhanced by a smooth and aromatic concoction of sage and oak mos, whilst VERT is a relaxed, fresh, outdoors scent featuring a unique bamboo wood accord which drives its fresh green woodiness and is enhanced with notes of Italian bergamot, iced melon, birch leaf and sandalwood.
Personally, I don't really understand the descriptions of fragrances but next time I see a tester for Eau de Lacoste VERT I'll be sure to pay great attention to where the bergamot was sourced from.
Eau de Lacoste BLANC, BLUE & VERT, available from here. £39.99-100ml / £23.99-30ml
